I made up a word and I just realized that no one in the googleverse has coined it yet. I want to be the one that is recognized one day as the originator of this term so I thought I would publish it in my blog so I can get the credit that is due my inventiveness and ingeniousness.
The term is SPLIGABUCKS - generally it is an element of the oral tradition of my household and business environs. It has been established that it is written spligabucks or even spligabux (if you are using the eastern urban variant).
The term is defined as a large sum of money. The kind and amount of money that classifies one as a person of true wealth not just simply a lucky rich person. (see Chris Rock's definition of being rich versus having wealth). I worked with my wife to clarify people with spligabucks or who have the priveledge of spending spligabucks generally have what you could define as generational wealth - wealth that can survive several unfortunately intellectually deficient individuals and still assure that progeny 3 to 10 generations distant will still have "never have to have a job if they don't want to" money. Spligabucks is a variant on the word megabucks but it indicates an even greater amount of money. Etymologically speaking spliga- as a prefix likely rose as a portmanteau of splendid, mega and maybe even silly when slapped onto the word bucks wealth can be inferred - however there may be other derivative uses of spliga as a prefix or maybe even a suffix. Consider spligadumb (or even to reach - splupid or splumb)
I started using this term nearly a year ago, but I am not certain of a date in particular. I do have a range of witnesses that have heard me use this word and it has begun to creep into the common usage of other members of my family.
Some cursory research has revealed that spliga- may be a word in italian or german - I was not aware of that word and still have not been able to divine any specific meanings in english.
